There will be no final exam in this course. Instead you will be required to select a project that involves the design of a web-based software application, implement your design, and demostrate your project to the class. Your application will need to be running in the Networking Lab during our final class period (4:00 pm - 6:30 pm on Monday, December 10th). If your applicationm does not run on the existing lab equipment, you are responsible for bringing any additional hardware or software.
You may work with a partner on a topic that is sufficiently large enough to warrant two people working together. However, both people must contribute equally to the project and each partner will be graded separately. You are to submit your project idea (in written form) for my approval no later than Octomber 29th.
Your project needs to incorporate at least two distinct multimedia components (e.g. audio, video, animation, sound, graphics, database, etc.). The deliverables for this project include: design rationale, paper prototype (e.g. story board or equivalent), full working system, user quick note, key screen snapshots, and your critique of final system.
In place of an oral presentation, you will be evaluating each web application during our final class period using a checklist provided. I would like to post a version of your running applications on the course web site. All work is due at our final class period. Incomplete requests must be made December 10th.
