Metrics Database has four tabs: Project oriented data, Function oriented data, COCOMO Data, and Metrics Calculation.

These tabs control the current view.

Project oriented data - The tab will display information on cost data, project data, and the data metrics.
Function oriented data - This tab will display information on information domain, weighting values, and processing complexity factors.
COCOMO Data - This tab will display information on software mode, product attributes, personnel attributes, and project attributes.
Metrics Calculation - This tab will display information on productivity and cost metrics, quality metrics, function point computations, productivity and cost metrics, and functionality.

To use software metrics database, click the 'Enter Metrics' button on the upper frame of the window. This button is located approximately in the B1 location of the spreadsheet screen. This action will cause the metrics database editor form to open.

In the editor form, enter data in any order until every field of every tab has been completed. At this point, pressing the update button will enter the data into the spreadsheet and calculate the remaining values. This information can then be printed or saved using the commands located in the file menu.
