About the Department

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), which is responsible for administering the Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering programs, has about 325 students enrolled in the sophomore through senior years. Each year approximately 60 - 70 students graduate with a Bachelor's degree in EE/CE and about 20 students graduate with a master's degree in EE/CE. We are proud of our high retention rate which exceeds 60%. While most of the graduates go on to work in industry often in a design and development environment, a few pursue full-time graduate studies at regional and national universities.

June 18, 2008 - Congratulations to WOLF team!!

The WOLF team in the Intelligent Systems Club lead by Professor N. Natarajan brought back three awards from the IGVC competition:

WOLF was placed second on the navigation challenge (ties for first  place but lost on time)

•  WOLF was placed second in the coveted Grand Award.

Wolf placed third in the autonomous challenge. This is the flagship event of the competition.

Professor natarajan pointed out that WOLF may be unique in winning more in prize money than what  it cost to built it! Most robots in the competition cost upwards of $15,000 and WOLF costs less than $2000.
