Undergraduate students and graduate students are selected for IAVS activities by the UM-D principal investigators of IAVS research projects after they are admitted to UM-D. In the case of CCS students, the selection also involves CCS administration if a collaborative project with UM-D is being considered.

Post-Doctoral fellows are selected by UM-D principal investigators prior to admission to
UM-D.
