The admission process starts with the submission of the following documents.
- Application Form (along with the application fee of $60.00 for domestic applicants and $75.00 for international applicants)
- Recommendation Letters
- Statement of Purpose (include your academic goals)
- Official Undergraduate Transcript showing the Degree conferred
Two recommendation letters are needed for applicants from USA and Canada and three recommendation letters are needed for international applicants.
For International Applicants:
- Submit TOEFL and GRE Scores
- Financial Certification Form and associated Documents

Do not send the application form and any of the documents to The Rackham School of Graduate Studies in Ann Arbor.
The application is evaluated by the Admissions Committee of the Manufacturing Systems Engineering program, and if all documents are in proper order, the response to applicants in USA and Canada is given within two weeks. The undergraduate transcripts of international applicants are evaluated by the Graduate Board using a 4-point scale and according to the University of Michigan standard. The response to international applicants takes 4 to 6 weeks after all documents are received and if they are in proper order.
