What is the Undergraduate Advising Office?
The Undergraduate Advising Office of the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) is the students' first contact for all undergraduate programs and provides a wide range of services and information, including, but not limited to:
- academic orientation, advising, and registration of new students after admission
- information about jobs and careers in engineering and CIS
- information about degree requirements and academic policies
- choosing, declaring, or changing your engineering or CIS major within CECS
- planning course selections and registration
- adding or dropping classes
- evaluation of transfer credits (click on hyperlink for Transfer Information)
- determining a student's progress towards graduation
- readmission of CECS students previously enrolled at the U of M-Dearborn
- information concerning appeals or exceptions
- forms such as course add/drop, total withdrawal, petition, and other forms
- certification that graduating seniors have met all degree requirements
- information and referral to other University offices, when needed for assistance in dealing with academic problems, personal difficulties, identifying career interests, and improving study habits or study skills
CECS students are urged to see an Undergraduate Advising Office advisor for any questions or concerns. Students may contact Undergraduate Advising Office advisors in person by appointment, on a walk-in basis, by e-mail, phone, fax, or surface mail.
