Engineering/Computer Science Experience
and contest for high school students

The fifth annual Engineering/Computer Science Experience will be held on Saturday,
March 27, 2010, in the Institute for Advanced Vehicle Systems building on the UM-Dearborn campus. Junior- and senior-level high school students may participate in one of three contests--engineering, computer programming, or web design--to compete for the following prizes.

ENGINEERING
First Place: $2,000 CECS Scholarship or $500 Cash
Second Place: $1,500 CECS Scholarship or $375 Cash
Third Place: $1,000 CECS Scholarship or $250 Cash
Honorable Mention: $100 Barnes & Noble Gift Card

COMPUTER PROGRAMMING
First Place: $2,000 CECS Scholarship or $500 Cash
Second Place: $200 Barnes & Noble Gift Card

WEB DESIGN
First Place: $2,000 CECS Scholarship or $500 Cash
Second Place: $200 Barnes & Noble Gift Card

Each contest requires that students register as part of a two-person team. Registration for this event (by a teacher/counselor sponsor) is open from January 29 to March 17, 2010. Space for the computer programming competition is limited to 30 teams. The web design competition is limited to 25 teams, and space for the engineering contest is limited to 45 teams.
