The College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) offers several tuition scholarships based on academic achievement.
Scholarships for Incoming CECS Students
- Incoming students are automatically considered for awards; only the Aswad Transfer Scholarship needs an application.
- All scholarships consider earned grades; ACT scores are also considered for freshmen scholarships.
- Scholarship recipients need to enroll full time in an approved CECS degree program.
- Some awards are renewable for a second year for students who maintain a minimum 2.75 grade point average and continue to enroll in an approved CECS degree program.
The Chrysler Scholarships
Eligibility: Incoming freshmen and incoming transfer students majoring in engineering or computer science.
Amount of Award: $1,000 to $2,000 per year towards tuition
The Ford Motor Company Scholarships
Eligibility: Incoming freshmen and incoming transfer students majoring in engineering or computer science.
Amount of Award: $1,000 to $2,000 per year towards tuition
The Henry Patton Endowed Scholarship

The Henry Patton Endowed Scholarships are awarded to students in electrical engineering or computer engineering from a bequest to the College of Engineering and Computer Science by Henry W. Patton II, the founder, president, and CEO of Acromag.
Eligibility: Incoming freshmen and incoming transfer students majoring in electrical or computer engineering.
Amount of Award: $1,000 to $5,000 per year towards tuition
The A. Adnan Aswad Scholarship

The
A. Adnan Aswad Scholarship grants $2000 per year award for two years for a total award of $4000 for students studying for an undergraduate degree in either industrial and systems engineering or manufacturing engineering at the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
- Aswad Scholars are required to enroll for at least nine credits in industrial and systems engineering or manufacturing engineering degree programs.
- After completion of the first year, the Aswad Scholarship is renewable for the scholar who maintains a cumulative grade point average of 2.75, continues to be enrolled in industrial and systems engineering or manufacturing engineering degree programs, fulfills the standards of academic progress as defined by the Office of Financial Aid, and successfully completes no less than 67% of courses attempted in residence.
- The Aswad Scholarship is awarded for the use during the Fall and Winter Terms only.
- This scholarship cannot be transferred to other colleges or universities.
- The Office of Financial Aid will monitor the scholar's academic progress annually.

Junge Family Endowed Scholarship

Junge Family Endowed Scholarship grants $2000 per year award for two years for the total award of $4000 for students studying for an undergraduate degree in either industrial and systems engineering or manufacturing engineering at the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
- Recipients will be chosen according to the merit and need.
- Recipients have attended any Michigan high school or have transferred to the University of Michigan Dearborn from Jackson Community College, Henry Ford Community College, Calvin College or Hope College.
- Junge Scholars are required to enroll for at least nine credits in industrial and systems engineering or manufacturing engineering degree programs.
- After completion of the first year, the Junge Family Scholarship is renewable for the scholar who maintains a cumulative grade point average of 2.75, continues to be enrolled in industrial and systems engineering or manufacturing engineering degree programs, fulfills the standards of academic progress as defined by the Office of Financial Aid, and successfully completes no less than 67% of courses attempted in residence.
- The Junge Family Scholarship is awarded for the use during the Fall and Winter Terms only.

Dr. Roger G. Klungle and Debra Lynne Klungle Endowed Scholarship grants $2000 per year award for two years for a total award of $4000 for students studying for an undergraduate degree in either industrial and systems engineering or manufacturing engineering at the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
- Recipients will be chosen according to the merit and need by an IMSE faculty committee.
- Dr. Roger G. Klungle and Debra Lynne Klungle Scholars are required to enroll for at least nine credits in industrial and systems engineering or manufacturing engineering degree programs.

Klungle and Debra Lynne Klungle Scholarship is renewable for the scholar who maintains a cumulative grade point average of 2.75, continues to be enrolled in industrial and systems engineering or manufacturing engineering degree programs, fulfills the standards of academic progress as defined by the Office of Financial Aid, and successfully completes no less than 67% of courses attempted in residence.

The Detroit Edison Scholarships
Eligibility: CECS students majoring in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering
Amount of Award: $1,000 to $2,000 per year towards tuition
The Frederick P. and Violet Sharpe Endowed Scholarships
Eligibility: CECS students or CECS transfer students from Henry Ford Community College majoring in engineering or computer science. Preference is given to U.S. citizens who were citizens of British Commonwealth countries or whose parents were citizens of those countries.
Amount of Award: $1,000 to $2,500 per year towards tuition
The General Dynamics Scholarships
Eligibility: CECS students majoring in engineering or computer science
Amount of Award: $1,000 to $1,500 per year towards tuition
The IMSE Scholarships
Eligibility: CECS students majoring in industrial and manufacturing systems engineering

The Carole and Anthony Fielek Endowed Scholarships
Eligibility: CECS students majoring in engineering
Amount of Award: $1,000 per year towards tuition
The Rebecca Ann Campbell Memorial Endowed Scholarships
Eligibility: CECS students majoring in engineering
Amount of Award: $1,000 per year towards tuition
Prechter International Travel Fellowship
Travel fellowships are awarded to CECS students taking part in an approved study abroad program from a gift by Ms. Waltraud (Wally) Prechter to the
Institute for Advanced Vehicle Systems.
Eligibility: CECS undergraduates taking part in an approved study abroad or student exchange program.
Amount of Award: up to $1,200 towards defraying travel costs associated with approved international studies.
Current CECS students who are planning to participate in international studies as part of their CECS degree program should contact the Director of CECS Academic Services
